The organization is the key to success for professionals. Using techniques or strategies that allow you to get to your tasks and cover what is important is definitely the key to obtaining the desired results.
For this reason, we want to share with you a very effective key to time management that can surely help you achieve your goals: the task list.
What is the best way to use this basic, but very effective, management tool?
The best way is to organize before, either the night before or early in the morning. Take a few minutes and structure your to-do list. This list can be on paper, currently, there are many APPS options that can help with this task if you like.
The critical thing is to have a list to execute so that you start working without thinking about where. It is advisable to start with the most essential task or the one you least want to do.
How should this list be?
First, realistic. Don't put more activities than you can really do in a day. If you have a long meeting or activity, consider this when making your list, and do not put more tasks than you can complete.
Concrete. Your list of activities should be very detailed. If you set very complex activities, the feeling of not getting there may overwhelm and demotivate you. It is better to take one good step at a time than to have a very optimistic but unfulfilled list of steps.
Stay consistent. Work according to your goals. Be it submitting your research, finishing a thesis, or preparing a dissertation.
Some figures on time management indicate that:
● Really important things only take 30% of the time.
● Unimportant tasks take between 10% and 50% of the day
● 80% of the results are obtained in the activities that we develop in 20%
Remember that one of the main factors in the success or failure of studies is time. Even more so when we refer to Doctorate / Ph.D. studies, where students are already at an adult and productive age, and often have to combine their studies with family, economic, and work responsibilities.
It's invaluable to have a time management strategy in place that helps you consistently achieve, and most importantly, stay consistent and stay focused during tough times.
